We are proud to use only British whole grain malts and hops in our brews. British growers produce over 30 different hops with a huge range of interesting flavours and character. UK maltsters also create a wide range of malts from British grown Barley, Wheat and Ryes providing a huge range of taste and colour options.
Brewed with British Lager and Munich malt with a touch of crystal malt to add a light caramel flavour and a slightly darker ‘Helles’ like character. A combination of hops provides a refreshing, sharp and crisp finish with a hint of orangy citrus. Our core lager is only lightly carbonated to help its easy drinking character.
Our soft Devon water is ideal for brewing light lager and we use a base of pale lager malt with East Kent Goldings hops to create our interpretation of the universal classic.
Roasted Barley malt and Roasted Rye are used along with core Lager malt to create a dry, biscuity flavour with a hint coffee and a rich dark colour. Pheonix hops add a slightly spicey chocolate and molasses flavours.
In tribute to our neighbours the herd of grass fed Red Ruby beef cattle our Ruby Red lager uses Red crystal malt to provide the deep ruby red colour and a toffee flavour. The classic Bramling Cross hop adds a distinctive 'American' aroma with flavour notes that are spicy, blackcurrant, loganberry and lemony citrus.
